Active Leisure

The area closest to the city center where the residents of Krakow partake in sports and active leisure is the Błonia Park, a vast former pasture that has been preserved as a large field where special events are held, and where people jog, rollerblade, cycle, and ice skate in winter. The park is a ten minute walk west from the ole town center, across the street from the main branch of the National Museum. Another easily accessible area for jogging and cycling are the embankments along the Vistula River. It's also possible in summer to rent paddle boats, and you will also sometimes see people kayaking, though usually you have to belong to a water sports club in order obtain a kayak. There are also a couple of bowling alleys in town for those with a hankering to knock down some pins.
