Pizzerias

In the 16th century, Italians brought the Renaissance to Poland when they redesigned the Wawel castle in Krakow. There is also a legend that says that the Italians also imported the tomato and parsley to Poland. Nowadays, it's becoming easier to find authentic Italian pizza in Krakow. Since the collapse of communism, more Italian restaurants and pizzerias have opened up in Poland than any other type of foreign restaurant, though most are run by Poles. But in the last couple of years a number of authentic pizzerias have popped up run by entrepreneurial Italians from southern Italy.
